About our Location
Situated on a high bank overlooking the pristine waters of the Kvichak River, No See Um Lodge is centrally located. Our average flight time is 30 minutes and have several fisheries that are less than a 10 minute flight. Being on the Kvichak gives us the option to fish right there using one of our inboard jet boats and the ability to go out if weather prohibits flying. With our fleet of Beavers we can access over 30 rivers and streams for world class trout, char, grayling and all five species of salmon. While the majority of our fishing is for trout we do spend as much time as our anglers desire going after salmon. We have boats on both the Nushigak and Alagnak rivers that provide for incredible Chinook or King salmon fishing, and quite possibly the best chum fishing on the planet. Silver salmon are caught on the Kvichak and several rivers we can fly to.
If you have tried other lodges the first thing you will notice about No See Um Lodge, is that we don't typically do" drop offs". Our client to aircraft ratio is unlike any other lodge in Alaska, three beavers for 12 anglers, this means we don't need to drop and run back for the next load. For you this means no waiting for airplanes, the option to fish multiple rivers in a day and the ability to head for home if the weather turns ugly. We like to get out with the sun in the morning and getting to the river first is always nice. You will never find yourself on "the second load" at No See Um. Our fishing is fairly consistent but there are occasionally days that rivers and fish don't cooperate- maybe high water, cold temps or just to much food in the river(can happen during the hight of the salmon spawn). Whatever the reason, if you are with us you won't be stuck for the next 10 hours, we will move. Another benefit is the ability to get out if you really need to. Medical issues, accidents or weather are a few reasons why having a plane right there is huge.
